Weekly blog prompts
Each week during internships, we had a task and we had to do weekly prompts that will show our internship experience more briefly.
Week 1
Blog 1. What I am really hoping to get out of this internship is hands-on experience and to learn many sets of skills I never would have learned in school. I hope this internship can help me determine if I want to pursue being an electrician as a future career. I hope to make some friends and connections with people that are in this industry and just want to enjoy and learn as much as possible.
week 2Blog: My final project will not be a physical product that shows my understanding in this internship but it will be a presentation of how I have helped out during my internship.
Blog 2: "What lessons or experiences at your internship will you bring back to school to further improve in academics"
Throughout my internship, I have learned many lessons but one lesson that I will definitely bring to school and implement for the improvement of my academics is communicating with my team mates to get the job done and also making sure everyone is on the same page when working together is very crucial and I really saw that during my internship |
Week 3Blog prompt 1. For my first prompt of week 3, I chose to explain how the social interactions at my workplace are like and if there was collaboration at my workplace and the answer is yes, there is a lot of social interactions and everyone is friends with each other. In my workplace, collaboration I think is one of the biggest things I see in a daily basis of this internship, everyone does their part equally. I think that it was cool that everyone would talk with each other and how everyone has a healthy relationship over there with their coworkers.
Blog prompt 2. For this blog prompt, I chose to explain how experiences at HTHMA have prepared me for internship and what comes first is collaboration because at HTHMA, our projects are based on group projects and these experiences of collaborating equally with my group mates have prepared me to be collaborative at my internship and that's honestly the biggest way HTHMA has prepared me. Blog prompt 3. For my third blog prompt of the week, I have decided to choose a picture from my photo essay, explain the photo and what made the photo significant to me. In the photo that I chose, you can see a van being packed up and this photo is significant because it represents GRID with their safety because you can see the hard hats on the volunteers and how we all are working as a team to make sure the van gets packed up with the right set of tools and with necessary items. It shows collaboration between me and my group. |
Week 4
Blog prompt 1. Throughout my time in this internship I definitely have seen my role develop and change because I am developing a good work ethic and being responsible really shows that I have developed and matured in this internship.
Blog prompt 2. After my time in the internship I am happy because now I have another door to a future and at GRID, I can for sure receive my training so I think I probably will if I really can't make up my mind, This is definitely one of my few choices for a potential career.

final week blog promp
Blog prompt 1. In my internship experience, I was very grateful because I like how they trained and showed me a bunch of material that really can help me for the future if I were to go in this industry of clean energy and electricity. I am also very thankful for the people that worked there because they are really nice and respected me. I thank my mentor for keeping me safe in such environment and for taking us out to lunch that was very appreciated by me. I also kind of developed being a little more nicer because everyone was just very nice it taught me in a way that I should treat others good.
Blog prompt 2. Some advice that I would like to pass on to future interns is to check your Gmail very often. I say this because that is how you will communicate with your teachers and all your tasks will come from there and your updates. Another very important skill for internship is to take in as much as knowledge as possible and ask questions a lot. Another advice I would tell someone is to not just build a good relationship with your mentor but also the people you are working with. Any student can develop these skills even before by being nice to your peers. You can also start by asking questions around your school and to learn how to collaborate.
